As usual, I feel like I’ve been writing a lot about *the struggle* lately and not enough about life’s good things, so today I’m here with three things I’ve been loving lately and that you might like too.
Despite feeling a lot of stress, the warmer weather is bringing me back to life and giving me a sense of hope. It might be a false sense but hope is hope, however fleeting!
Three good things
My son is getting old enough to A) be excited about holidays and B) do crafts, and I am living for both. We tried the Cool Whip + food coloring method of dyeing Easter eggs this weekend and while he hates getting messy (despite us strictly following all the baby-led weaning protocol), he did love dropping the eggs into the Cool Whip and watching me mix them into the colors. We were both amazed by the final product and I was treated to a repeat of “Eggs? More?” the rest of the afternoon.
A life-changing birthday gift: the Ember mug. I started drinking a lot more tea when baby arrived (how did I ever survive without caffeine?) and while I’m usually an iced chai or matcha drinker, hot beverages have been winning out lately because they take less steps to make. But then you have the problem of never being able to drink them while they’re hot because: baby. Enter the Ember mug. Over the weekend I had a 137°F cup of tea while sitting outside on a chilly morning and like, life? Changed.
Along with everyone else, I’ve become obsessed with Ayo Edebiri, especially after reading her profile in Vogue. I mean, it’s no secret that I love The Bear—would it be too much if I named my potential next kid Sydney?—and Bottoms and Theater Camp but for your additional consideration: this TikTok and this one!(!!) I need more Ayo in every aspect of my life.
Currently
Reading: I’m about to start this somewhat buzzy novel about a cookbook editor whose life gets upended when her fiancé confesses a betrayal. The story is supposedly intertwined with a lot of descriptions of food so it sounds right up my alley.
Watching: I started One Day while I was sick a few weeks ago and have yet to get back to finish it. It’ll be waiting for me on an emotional day when I want to be even more emotional.
Listening: A new Waxahatchee album comes out later this week and I can’t wait. No one I know listens to them but you should.
Eating: For my SLC friends—go get this pasta. Trust me.
What are you reading/watching/listening to right now? Got any good things happening in your life?
